If you had preterm labour stopped - come and humour me!

I went into preterm labour last thursday and eventually the docs managed to stop it and get in the necessary steroids. Ever since then I've been having contractions on and off. I've decided to try and ignore them until they persist properly although I'm a little stressed out knowing that I'm walking around partly dilated already!

Anyway, my question is....

If you had a preterm labour stopped, what did the docs use to stop your labour and how long was it before LO made an appearance?

I know that this will in no way indicate what is going to happen with my own labour. I'm just bored from resting and would like to hear from other people who understand the stress of not knowing what is going to happen Smile

I had PTL at 34 weeks. I had a stitch for incompetent cervix too. They tried to stop labour with some patches but it didn't work. Labour stopped after they took the stitch out!

It never re-started and at 35w5d I was induced as my hindwaters had gone and I was showing signs of infection. The induction failed because my cervix could not dilate beyond 4x6cm due to scar tissue and I had a c-section. Who knows if the scar tissue was stopping labour too?

So a bit different story to yours I assume! Hope you can hang on! I've heard of people going to term plenty of times.

My waters broke at just short of 30 weeks. I got the steriods and docs managed to hold off labour until 33 weeks when I developed eclampsia (unrelated to early labour). :(

DD was 4lb and perfect, only spent 2 weeks in hospital getting feeding established.

Hope everything goes well for you.
