My daughter, now 13 was diagnosed with PTSD three years ago after witnessing an attempted suicide by family member.
Unfortunately I have had a roller coaster ride with her since with anxiety and depression and she has had counselling...we dip in and out as we ended up having to pay privately.
Last year I took her out of school because of serious bullying and her MH got worse. She has improved greatly and has made new friends at HE groups and is generally a different girl.
But, health anxiety has become a issue in the last few months. She does have a heart condition but it is mild and even though our doctor took time reassuring her over the palpitations it only worked for a few weeks!
Another issue is she is worried about stomach pains...she was worried about ovarian cancer with that one.
Tomorrow she is back seeing her counsellor so am hoping she will help but is there anything else I can do?

I think your daughter may need more than counselling if she has health anxiety. Is it just a counselling service or are there other professionals there?? A psychologist would be more helpful to treat her.

Also wondering if the ptsd was treated or treatment completed? A reassessment now her presentation has changed would be useful to think how the traumatic event she witnessed links with her health anxiety. You don't mention whether you've seen camhs but this may be useful to get an assessment- even if you stick with the counselling whilst you wait.
