Anxiety related vomiting in 10 year old

Any advice anyone. My 10 year old vomits copiously when stressed, then gets really stressed that she might vomit in public so vomits again. What to do? The stress is primarily in new and public situations. Should I make her face it out or mitigate the stressful situation for a short period?

LDMH

Anxiety is a major factor in eating disorders. I would suggest a referral to a CAMHS unit (via your GP) and to a psychiatrist. Not for eating disorders but for anxiety disorder. I would suggest this reaction is not self-induced or attention seeking but a psychological problem that has manifested in the form of vomiting. Anti-anxiety medication and/or cognitive therapy should help her.

Update. Apology for not posting sooner. My daughter's vomiting ceased after a week. We took her to the GP who helped her to realise that the vomiting was due to stress rather than from an underlying physical illness. We gave her some coping mechanisms (a song and some lozenges), we talked through the underlying anxiety causes and we discussed it with her school. She continued on the bus and is now a bus enthusiast and very happy, both in her journey and in her school. In fact she is thriving.
I think that anxiety at times of change, stress and new situations is not abnormal and sometimes a very supportive but pragmatic approach works - as it did here.
I value enormously the feedback and helpful advice received here. Thanks.
