Hi,

For just over two years, my wife has been suffering with mental health and physical health issues. What those issues are, we have no idea. She has never had any successful diagnosis, as a result she has never really had any support other than myself. I don't have a problem with this. I've been in love with her since the very second I met her. I've been there for her throughout so much, and I will be there for her throughout so much more.

Fast forward just over the two years to today and lately I've been paying attention to something that just, makes me feel good. It's the 'clap'. I see people clapping for the nhs and it's beautiful, I see people clapping for health workers and it's beautiful.

The thing that brings a tear to my eye more than either of those is when my wife stands up out of hair wheelchair, balances against the desk that she's colouring pictures on, looks directly into my eyes with her heart full of love and claps telling me that she's clapping for me. Her carer.

That makes everything worthwhile and makes me feel like I'm doing a good job.

I don't work for the nhs. I'm not a healthcare worker. I'm not even a shelf-stacker at a supermarket. I'm a stay-at-home husband and I just do what I need to do for the woman I share my heart with.

And if you're reading this I want you to know my heart is clapping for you too, no matter who you are, no matter what you do.

Thank you.
