Best seat for grandparents' car

Looking for a car seat to use in grandparents' car. DD is currently in an Axkid Minikid in our car but there is no way it would fit into my dad's car (he drives a really small car and is 6 foot 5 so there isn't much room at all behind him) and we would have another seat behind the passenger seat so it couldn't go there.

Would prefer her to be rear facing but don't really think it's an option...so I'm looking for recommendations of harnessed seats up to 25kg that are easy to fit and safe etc?

Thanks.

Here is some info about rear facing in small cars in case it's helpful, including an extensive gallery linked at the end. I believe the Two Way Elite, Joie Tilt and Joie 360 are the most compact rear facing seats (but she might be too big for the latter two, if in a 25kg seat.)

If you're looking at forward facing, don't forget there needs to be a 55cm gap between the crease of the vehicle backseat, and the back of the seat in front. A good shortcut for this is that the child (up to age 3) shouldn't be able to kick the front seat when in the car seat. This is to allow for potential forward movement in a crash - any closer than 55cm and you risk them hitting their head on the front seat, even if you have a very good seat and it's installed correctly etc.

The other issue with forward facing up to 25kg is that most of the seats which do this require the use of top tether. If your dad's car is newer than 2013 this shouldn't be a problem, but if it's older you might struggle to find one which is compatible.

You could also look at rear facing in the front passenger seat, if your dad/his passenger would be amenable to this and he is able to turn his airbag off.

We have the cybex juno (but the cybex palas maybe an option as it lasts much longer) we are absolutly THRILLED with it.

Bought for back seats of a sports car. Its super compact and has a bumper impact shield rather than a point harness so is much safer than a 5 point harness. And amazing side inpact protection.

Highly reccomend

Forgot to mention its 2-way fix so can be used with or without isofix. So can be used in any car. Or even front seat if nesessary!
