Car seats

Car seat for occasional travel use

We don't have our own car and tend to use public transport. Up until now, we would use our Group 0+ seat as part of a travel system if any part of our journey involved a car (for example, going to visit friends who
would collect us from the train station).

Our daughter (13 months) is just about to grow out of that seat and as far as I understand we need to get a group 1 seat which aren't compatible with travel systems, so we would need to carry it with us.

It would only be for very occasional use so probably doesn't need many fancy extras- just easy to transport and very safe!

Does anyone have any recommendations or alternative ideas?

** realistically, we mostly use the seat to travel to the same relatives so we could buy a seat for them to keep if there's a good, very safe, cheap but too bulky option.

Joie stages would be a good option.

Maybe Britax Prince? or there are those small portable seats - Mifold I believe. Not sure if they are the right age group though

We were in the same position and bought a Joie Steadi as we needed the narrow base to fit in between 2 high back boosters if we were in my Mums car.

It's lightweight, easy to fit and not to pricey BUT if the space wasn't an issue I'd have gone for the Joie Stages as it felt slightly more secure rear facing.
