Car Seat to fit Nissan Navara

We've just bought a Nissan Navara crew cab and while the little baby seat fits fine, he's getting too big and ideally we want a 0-4 seat, but still needs to be rear facing. The seatbelts in the back are short, and we're struggling to find a seat that fits. Forward facing is not an option, as he's only 7 months, but 10kg! Any help/recommendations gratefully received!

We have a Nissan Navara and a Joie I-anchor, you have to use the isofix base base its rear facing to 18kg then can be turned forward facing so should last a while, it fits in nicely.

Thanks Dizzy, I have a shortlist of seats I want to try out, the Joie is one of them, but wasn't planning on going down the ISO route. DO you just need the base or does the Navara have ISO points?

It has Iso points in the back, we already had the base as bought it for our infant carrier but there are some good seats that don't use isofix, my friend has another Joie one but I can't remember which one!

I would suggest looking at a 25kg seat if your little one is 10kg at 7 months.
If you look at where he is on the chart in his red book and follow the same percentile until 18kg you will find that he will have reached this weight before he is 4yrs which is the recommended minimum age for going into a high back booster. With a 25kg seat you will be able to keep him harnessed until he has reached the right age/maturity for the hbb.
I would suggest checking out the In Car Safety Centre website and give them a ring for advice as they are really knowledgeable and have a good range of seats.
There is a good FB group called Car seat advice for mummies and daddies that you can ask questions on, the administration team on there are really helpful.

Muddy, thanks for that advice, the issue I'm facing right now isn't the weight but the fact that he should be rear facing still? I thought that was based on age rather than weight, but I could be wrong. I'll take a look at the info you've given me and hopefully can find something suitable.

If he is very tall then take a look at the axkid minikid and the two way elite. Yes at 7 months he should absolutely definitely be rear facing for a long time yet.
