Hi - I'm planning ahead for when my youngest DC moves on from the carrycot stage 0 maxi cosi Into DC2 maxi cosi axiss - and he will move into a stage 1. He's 28lb and so from what I understand stage 1 is fine for him (?)

The two I'm debating are the babyweavers gro seat with 5 point harness or a recaro young sport - any personal recommendations?

Well baby weavers is team tex brand and I wouldn't touch them at all.

Young sport. I had this seat and its OK.

Personally though I'd do some rear search into extended rear facing seats and look at a joie stages for middle child if money is a prohibiting factor

Recaro is a far better brand than babyweavers. Recaro make racing car seats whereas babyweavers seem to be the cheapest of the cheap, cutting every corner possible. I wouldn't trust them.

I think it's 29lbs minimum for a forward facing seat but I only know the limits for sure in kilos - 9kg min, 13kg max for the baby carry seats. How old is the baby?

Recall, definitely. Baby weavers are far inferior in terms of features, quality and safety testing

Thanks all! DS2 (who will be moving into the new seat) is 19months currently - the baby is only 9months so has a minimum of another 3/4months in the maxi cosi. The issue with her is she is very long in the body - so even tho it doesn't matter if her legs overhang, her head will soon be in line with top of the seat! But yet she's only 13.5lb Hmm

Seen the graco nautilus elite too....

What about the extended rear facers?

They may be a better option of she's a very light but long baby? Regardless of age she's way too light to put forward facing. The minimum is 20lbs.

Will def have a look at erf! :D

Don't worry have no plans to move her anytime soon - she has at least another 7lb to gain - mind you te way she's eating won't be long! X

Ah I see, you want a seat which has a harness now but turns into a high backed booster later, for the 19 month old, which is a group 123 seat. He's already in a group 1 if he's in the maxi cosi axiss.

You could get a 123 seat for the toddler but I don't think they offer as good support as a normal group 1 seat. Your other option of course is to look at a group 0/1 seat for the baby like the britax first class which is often on offer. Or just buy another group 1 since they'll both get the use out of them.

Babyweavers is Kiddicare's own brand. Recaro is a premium car seat brand that specialise in making car seats for both adults and children. I know which I would buy.
