Car seats

Can anyone recommend a car seat with removable harness?

I need to move my 3.4 yo in to a new car seat so that his younger brother can move in to his. He is tall and over 15 kg but I am very reticent about just using a booster fastened with a seat belt at the moment. I'd like him in a harness for a while yet. Can anyone recommend a seat where I could use the harness until he's older and then remove it and just use as a booster? Thanks

Not sure about harnesses but we put DS in a Kiddy Pro when we had this problem ... Has an impact cushion that you remove when they're bigger.

You can buy a stage 1/2/3 combination seat and continue to use the harness till 18kg. Have a look on kiddicare website, I think they sell a few like this

The Britax Evolva is a good solid seat, but very wide. It probably wouldn't work if you ever needed to fit 3 child seats in the back of your car. And, depending on your car, it might be a tight fit for any adult to sit in the middle too.

I know it's a small car, but I noticed a Mini parked near work the other day with two Evolvas in the back - there was about 10cm space between them!

Not that I'm obsessed with car seats or anything!

Thanks everyone. Just weighed him and he's just over 17 kg. an I right in thinking hd needs to find out of a harness seat by 18, in which case i should just but the bullet and get a booster seat with seatbelt and see how we go?

Yes at 18 kg you need to take off the straps. We have the britax evolva, its is quite big but we manage with two carseats and ds2 10 in the back

We had a Britax Evolva 123 which was harnessed up to 18kg. You can then remove the seatbelt and use it as a booster up to age 12 I think.

a britax two way elite is harnessed up to 25kg. It can also I think be used as a HBB (never seen that here but on the box ours came in it stated it could so I'm a bit confused)

We have the Kiddi Pro and it's been brilliant, my very tall DS is 5.5 and still fits in it perfectly (without the cushion) and he will be in for years to come.
