Suggestions for baby car seat for 2 point seat belt?

We have a fab T4 campervan and our back seats only have 2 point seat belts. I'm currently pregnant and totally overwhelmed by the choice of car seats and finding it hard to identify ones that work with a 2 point belt.

Anyone got one or got any recommendations please?

Ideally one from birth to 4 years (with an inner for babies?) or just 0-9mths one. All suggestions very welcome.

Cheers!

You are going to find this very difficult and will have to go and check it does definatly fit. The graco auto baby base fits with just a lap belt. And the graco logic s base also does.

for stage 1 (approx 1-4 years) you could have two way elite, britax eclipse, britax prince, britax multi-tech, and the britax maxway Just to name the ones I know about

I think you probably need to upgrade seat belts to 3 point harnesses.

Thanks for suggestions so far. Our conversation doesn't allow for easy fitting of different belts. We'd rather find a car seat that works.

Any other suggestions very welcome from older camper owners.

Will try emailing all the brands and ask too.

Sorry, just realised today that it says 'conversation' instead on conversion!!!

I would look at the klippan kiss. This works from birth to 18kgs rear facing on the seatbelt and no tethers!!! Sister in law has one in her old vw campervan! Have a look on in car safety centre website

We've got a T4 conversion and had 3 point belts put in, it was a fairly quick job and only cost us £30. Dd1 is in a HBB, I'm not sure what boosters would fit with a lap belt when you get to that stage otherwise. Dd2 is in the front in her baby carrier, we don't have airbags so that isn't an issue.

We had a van with a 2 point belt in the middle seat. Initially DS was in a Maxi Cabriofix seat, on an Easyfit base. The base can be fitted on a lap belt, then the seat fits as normal. When he grew out of that, he moved into a Britxlax Elite which can fit with a 2 or 3 point seat belt.

BikeRunSki was yours the easybase2? Only when we looked for a seat for dhs pickup the fitter lady said it only fits with 3point belt so no good for us because pickup middle seat only had 2 point.
We were told the graco base would be fine though.

We have a T3 camper and DS (now 3) has happily been in his Britax (sorry, don't know the model) since he was about 1. It reclines, so probably would suit a younger child.

We don't use the van daily, so we've not upgraded to a 3 point belt, it's very expensive to do apparently.

I do sometimes have a bit of a panic that he's not safe in it, but it's hard to know if he really is or isn't. How can you check? Anyway, we've done about 2000 miles driving to the west coast of ireland and down the atlantic coast of france without incident so so far so good....

Do you have airbags in the front? If not, you could always use a maxi cosy in the passenger seat for the first year?

By the way, you might like to know that small children LOVE camper vans, in my experience. We drive for up to 6 hours with our little man in the back and because he's perched so high up he gets a great view and never gets cramped or whingy. Also, running a very loud diesel engine, he's quite happy chatting to himself and me and DH have long conversations up front, almost forgetting he's there... Quite a different experience to having DC in the back of a normal sized car for sure. Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way!

Ours was just an Easybase, no number. The people at John Lewis didn't know it would fit just on a 2 point belt, and itvis not clear on the website, but it was in the instruction manual.

Just found the Easybase instructions online here. Both the easybase and Easybase2 say no to 2point fixing.

The only from birth seats I can find that will allow 2point fit is the Graco ones 'Iwanttofly' linked to that go upto 13kg (12-15mths) or the kiss seat from th In Car Safety Centre in Milton Keynes which goes up to 18kg (4yrs) rear facing only.
Once you get to stage1 seats there are more options to choose from that can fit with lap only belts.

I just checked in my easybase instruction and it definitely says only for use with a 3 point seatbelt

Hi everyone. Sorry for delay in replying to say thanks, but been in and out of hospital with bladder issue. Nightmare!

Anyhoo, a huge thank you to everyone for your suggestions, it's really helpful. In John Lewis Bluewater the woman said they didn't have any for 2 point, but they did have the Easybase...I'll take this along and see what they say. (It's probably that they have a rule to not promote 2 point or something.

Cheers!
