Do Car Rental Companies Just Rent Car Seats?

My wife and I are heading to Ireland in the summer and will be borrowing a relative's car whilst we're there.

Does anyone know if car rental companies (AVIS, HERTZ etc) just rent car seats on their own?

Would save us having to bring our own and be charged to have it stowed.

You could you ask your relatives to ask around, they may know someone who has car seats that their children have outgrown.

Or get them to contact a local creche - years ago when my DD was in a creche the owner had quite a bit of baby equipment that had been donated by parents when the children grew out of it.

you'll have no luck with the car hire companies - I arrived in Ireland a few years back with a two month old and the airline had lost all our luggage (including the car seat). We were being picked up but obviously had no car seat - I was in tears and I begged all the hire car companies to hire me just the seat but they wouldn't do it - eventually a policeman found me one in lost property! definitely try a baby equipment hire company instead.
