Is it the infant seat (birth 13kg)?

This question has been asked before and from what I can gather the strap bit (that you tighten loosen straps with) loops up underneath the seat and this is where people get confused. Apparently if you look and feel where it attatches under the seat it looks like the bit its attached to is solid but there is in fact a little gap in the middle under the webbing where if you twist/wriggle/fiddle the strap about a bit you can unhook it.

Not sure if this makes sense but hopfully if you have a fiddle it will. Or somone with the same seat will come along and give you more precise instructions (I have 3 britax ones so dont know much about the maxi cosi)

i have this seat, and yes what mybootsaremuddy said basically, it looks like it is attached on but basically it is hooked, tightly over a little metal bit and you have to twist/fiddle with it to get the strap to come off, it is easier if you turn the seat upside down i think :)

thanks guys, my husbund has tried and tried as I have it doesn't seem to come through its looped at the bottom and we took off the grey plastic disc which lengthens the straps but still the rest of the cover is just hanging on by it...mega frustration, think i'll be dabbing it down, yes its the newborn one..:)

there is a little loop that attaches onto a metal bit underneath the seat, you have to wriggle it off that, hang on, let me look at my seat and see if i can give you a better description :)

so which bit of strap is attached to the seat? the shoulder straps come through the back and then the rest of the seat cover pulls off and the buckle bit etc will fit through the hole, with a bit of wiggling? are you wanting to take the straps off as well?

on mine ont he underside where the belt buckle bit goes there is a grey plastic bit that can flip up and under that there is a bit that looks like it might be able to be popped out? but i dont have to do that to take the cover off. i ahve the instructions....somewhere...

So the cover is now just 'hanging' by the webbing of the adjuster strap???

If you follow the looped adjuster strap under the seat and feel where it attaches on a little bar under the seat you should be able to feel a little gap in the bar under the webbing where it is attatched, if you twist webbing a bit you can slip it off the bar and 'hey presto' the cover will come off!! (I had a fiddle with friends one today)
