Car seats

Any advice on booster seats? Thanks!

My DS1 is 4 and is getting too big for his current carseat, a maxicosi priori / tobi (Ds2 & him go between the 2 seats). I believe the next stage is a booster seat but I have no idea what to get! We are expecting DC3 in summer so ideally I'd like a smallish seat that can fit between the other 2.

I've seen booster seats that are just a cushion sort of idea, and then there are others that look just like what he is in just now (ie, the seat has a back and sides round the head etc). What's the difference between them?

Can anyone help? Thanks!

The best thing to get is a high back one (seat with back and sides) they are safer. Depends on your car and how wide the seat are at different places which seat will fit best. A good idea is to take all the seats with you when you go to buy one. Which car and baby seat do you have someone on here may have done it before

Definitely a high backed booster and not just the booster cushion. Halfords told a friend recently that the booster cushions are going to be banned because they have no safety features what so ever.

The Britax Adventure is a narrow high backed booster that is easy to use between seats, because it doesn't have arms that make it difficult to reach past to do the seat belt up.

Yep booster seats are being banned, and I also would recommend the Adventure/Hi-way - you can pick up a Britax Hi-Way for about £40 in halfords atm too! AND they are already tested to pass tighter legislation coming in during the next 5 years :D
