Hayfield is very nice. It's at the bottom of Kinder.

Upper Booth farm? Very basic facilities but in such a beautiful place.

Thanks, Upper Booth Farm looks great!
How many of you campers have stayed there, and anyone taken their dog?

If you want peace and quiet you will love Upper Booth. We went for four nights at May half term and it was just fantastic. It's a good 25 mins walk into Edale for the pub and it really is just one shower for the whole place! I can't wait to go back. Am trying to think if anyone had dogs....

Was the lack of showers a problem? I love the idea of peace and quiet

It wasn't a prob as even when full there didn't see to be so many people there. You could see who was on their way to the shower so knew when to set off yourself! For a weekend trip I will make do next time with some dry shampoo and a good wash

(we are not hardy campers by the way. Went to France this summer to full on all facilities type place but enjoyed Upper Booth as well)

thanks fatzak, we are probably alike, I am not fussed about shower when its only 2 days. Make up for it when getting home with a long soak in the bath! Thats what camping is about isnt it.

Barn Farm is lovely. It has wandering peacocks all over the place and is set in the most breathtaking scenery. Best of all it is really close to Chatsworth so you can swan around pretending you're Georgiana for a day. We loved it. Although we went during the week and can imagine it gets busy in peak season at weekends. You can also take dogs.

Oranges, Barn Farm looked good until i looked at the photos - oh my god is this the norm at campsites, packing tents in like sardines?

The site we stayed at in summer only had tents round the perimeter!
