Looking at going to London in the October break and am looking for recomendations of campsites.

Have been on the UKCamping website and found 5 or 6 and at the moment we are leaning towards Abby Wood because it seems quietish, short walk to train and short journey into London.

Abby Wood

But has any one any personal recomendations.

There's one at Crystal Palace which is quite good for buses / trains into London, and has lots of places to eat, etc. And the park itself is great.

Abbey Wood is not such a nice area, methinks!

There is a campsite in Chertsey and another one in nearby Laleham. It is pretty easy to get into London from nearby Staines station

Abbey Wood is near me (SE London) and is set in lovely woodland, good security and very near the train station (although if you must spend three hours deciding which ticket to buy, please step aside, some of us have a train to catch!).

And if you don't like it you can camp in my front garden.

I think Crystal Palace perhaps scarier than Abbey Wood! Inner London and all that LOL

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, will go and google using those areas.

PMSL at that one Trout, definatly would give it a go though but I don't think they would be happy if I try and peg my Sahara 6 down with the Delta Pegs
