Wind up Lantern

I'm looking for a wind up lantern for DD to take on camp in 2 weeks time. I would also prefer it to be in "child" colours ie pink or primary colours. Have found quite a lot on Amazon but none in those colour, and Millets do pink lanterns, just not wind up!

If you can't point me in the way of coloured lanterns, could you recommend a few for me please? It's primarily because DD sleeps with the night on (not always been the way) and her torch won't be strong enough for her.

bof! to pink. Get her a sensible silver one.

BUT

Our wind up lantern does not last the night, and makes a hell of a racket when you are winding away at 3.45 am with a drippy wailing child. Much better are the solar lanterns (got ours from sainsbo's). So long as you put them OUTSIDE the tent during the day, they give a lovely soft night lightey glow that lasts and lasts....

I think you can get that one in a robust Forest Green if that helps.

Do tell me to shut up

LOL at drippy child! Silver sounds nice, hadn't considered that. Neither had I thought to hit good old sainsburys (where her torch/chair/bag have all come from ). Solar lantern sounds good.

Thanks for the ideas - keep 'em coming!

We got a lantern from Argos a couple of weeks ago for about £18. You can wind it up or charge in from your car or from the mains. Not the brightest of lights but does the job.
