Bit of a rethink - I need a tent DD(11) & I can put up by ourselves

As DH either won't be around or won't be doing much

So despite having picked a tigris 600 I need to reconsider and pick again

I am fairly flat-pack friendly, but not terribly tall/agile

DD is short & weak

So what could we put up by ourselves

I got this one in the hope that I can pitch it on my own - ds is 5 so won't be much help. Doesn't look too complicated but I won't know for certain until I try to pitch it in a couple of weeks time!

Instructions herewhich may help you decide.

Katymac, is the tent just for the 2 of you?
the vango ones here should be v straightforward to put up..

Well if DH is OK he will come - he just won't be much use/help putting it up

SO there will be 4 of us - 2 adults 1 11yo - but 1 11yo is not mine so I don't know how much use she will be

Here is a video of the tent 4andnotout is talking about. The demo's in Decathlon are very good too. We've had a couple of Decathlon tents and they've been great.

I've just got one of these as I've got to be able to pitch it with dd who's a tall 9. The garden trial went well and we're planning to go for real soon. I'm 5'5" and only really needed help with threading the poles as our garden isn't wide enough!

It has 2 bedrooms (which can be made into one), one sleeps 2, the other 3. I thought it would be ideal for me, dd and a friend. Dh is highly unlikely to be well enough to come but there's space just in case.

Thanks for these suggestions - I think I will hang fire on buying one until DH gets out of hospital

We've just got the decathlon 4 sec tent. We got the big one and 2 small ones which you can attach together. I put it up on my own when I took the 3 DC camping. They are great tents.

Thanks for the recommendation - I will try to 'see' one in real life
