Hello yes i know it is totally irrational

I have all the equipment, family tent, been camping many times yet i'm put off going coz i feel like the tent isn't secure enough

She is 17 months and loved the caravan i know she would have a lovely time

Any tips to make me feel better or phone numbers of a good shrink :-)

Keep her in the same "room" as you in the tent? Thats what we do and ds is just coming up for 7.

Well I'm not sure it's the best idea, but years ago, when I was wee, my mum and dad used to line the outside of the tent with empty wine bottles!

But seriously, if she's in the same inner tent bedroom with you, which I assume she will be, no harm will come to her and I think you know that!

I felt the same way before going with dds, kept imagining that someone would eb able to cut a hole in the tent and take them away without me noticing!
Not possible, I'm sure. I completely forgot my fears when we pitched the tent, and I'm sure you will too.

Maureen, how diligent and attentive of them
I think I'll remember that TOP TIP and insist on doing that when we go camping next

you'll clearly have to drink all the wine that night to gain empty wine bottles - you'll never wake up if the baby snatchers come being so hammered - maybe a false economy

I'm more worried about ending up with extra children in our tent when we are camping, not the other way around

DH and I always sleep in the living room in front of the bedroom DD and DS sleep in - Guard dog like.
I think its a common fear, but highly highly unlikely.

i shall start building tolerance imediately! and maybe a will expand on the idea and take open corned beef tins and mouse traps and a small shovel to create a moat
