Camping

Is it really as wet as the forecast suggests in Somerset? Due to go camping there on Wednesday...

We are due to go to the Quantocks on Wednesday for 5 days. Dh is sick in bed with strep throat, ds (10 mths) is doing lots of night waking, and the thought of the effort required to go away with 3 dcs, dh and dog only to be camping in the rain ..... I am sorely tempted to cancel. Please someone tell me that it's really quite sunny, with just the odd shower

It has rained heavily in Taunton for the last few days but today, although overcast have only had a few light showers. Don't know what the forcast is like for the rest of the week.

We've just come back from Somerset (Porlock) and it wasn't that bad. We had some really heavy rain at night but just the odd drizzly shower during the day. We didn't bother with our coats most of the time as it was so warm, and we had plenty of long sunny spells so managed to get out and about and do everything we wanted to. Unfortunately it decided to rain just as we were ready to put the tent away so we've got to dry it out somehow. It's far too massive for the garden.

Thank you both. I know that you are right, that once you are there and camping you just get on with it, and make the most of the dry spells. DH is still sick, so we might make it by the weekend.
