best weekend tent for 5?

Have an outwell Indiana which we love but have decided that it is just too much to put up for a quick weekend.
What is about that we could put up really quickly, but fit us all in comfortably iyswim?
dc aged 5,8 and 10 if that helps at all.

Thanks

Ok, I know it must have been done loads before, but I really would love another tent for weekends. Have looked at a few, but would like some suggestions if possible. Please

What about a Coleman Cedar Creek. Sandyballs has one and is happy with it and its on sale at GOoutdoors for £99 at the moment.

Not sure if canvas is your thang but This pyramide 6 is going for a song on ebayCrap photo btw

We have the smaller Guadeloupe and it is almost laughable how easy it is to put up.

Basically it's 5 poles. 1 central one, 2 either side of door,2 holding out the porch. It takes DH and me 15 mins from lifting it out of the car to banging in the last peg to pitch.

Oh and you will get nice comments from other campers too.

Down side is its big (in the car) and the faff of wet canvas, but apart from that the pyramids are gorgeous

Thanks for them. Would it not be a bit of a squeeze though having just a 5 birth, when there are 5 of us though, iyswim. Or is that the point of a weekend tent ?

I think it would be a bit of a squeeze tbh but I don't mind that in a weekend tent as we only bother if the weathers nice so spend most of our time outside.

I'm more worried about the room to sleep tbh. Dc (obviously) are getting bigger, and I don't want to buy one this year that will just fit us and then have to buy a new one again next year.
Also don't think dd will want to sleep with her brothers for much longer.

Then i think you'll need to look at a six berth.

You see this is the sort of thing that I was looking at, but not sure it would be any quicker that the one we've got already. What do you think?
3 bedrooms would be ok tbh, but at a quick glance can't seem to see one.

It looks nice but I don't know how much quicker it would be to put up than your Indiana. How much money are you looking to spend? Khyam do some tents that are really quick to erect but they are pricey.

Don't want to spend over the top money, certainly not as much as the Indiana was, but willing to spend to get the right thing (does that make sense?). Will have a look at the Khyam's. Thanks

Have you been on UKCS and checked out the reviews on there?

No. Will pop over now. Just looked at the Khyams. You're right, they are pricey. Thanks for your help

This tent had a good review on there

There are 5 Khyam rigidomes on ebay atm, depending on your location

Your Indiana can't take more than 30 minutes to pitch can it marymoocow? I don't know what would be less tbh.

Unless you got a couple of biggish Quechua popups and a tarp between them - but then you would have no 'living space'

You've not seen us pathetically attempting to put it up!. It seems to take us ages. We did put it up in the garden yesterday though to check it, and it didn't seem to take as long as last year. It just feels so heavy (which is its beauty for 2 weeks). Maybe we ought to just get on with putting it up instead of discussing every single move about what goes where.
We do love it though, which is why i'm struggling to find anything else.
We'll keep looking. Won't be getting anything this year now (just had a huge bill for the car )

ahem ahem ahem

could I just everso slightly and politely mention pyramids again as they are up in a flash and lusious to sleep in.

Or is this a 'no canvas fogeys allowed' camping thread?

I just had a look at that link slubber and its really near me but we have just spent loads of money buying a Norfolk Lake so i don't think i'll show it to dh or he might cry lol.

I wonder what the reserve is. 'Tis the perfect w/e tent for 5 (so long as you don't mind no SIG).

[canvas temptress]

I did buy mine without completely telling DH you know.

lol the NL is polycotton so we are quite happy with that. We already have that and a weekend tent and really don't need another one

And my dh would have some sort of heart failure if i bought a tent without checking with him first. He's still recovering from open-wallet surgery 3 weeks after buying the NL

slubber - dustystar has the perfect tent already - stop trying to persuade her to go down the canvas/non-sig route
