How about Fallbarrow in Bowness, Windermere?

www.southlakelandparks.co.uk/fallbarrow.asp

Been a couple of times, beautiful surroundings, right on the Lake and a few minutes walk into Bowness.

The Plassey Caravan park just outisde Wrexham is lovely. Won AA park of the year a few years back, got a pool, pub, restuarant, golf course, nice rural setting , plenty to do nearby.

Awnings just give you more room.
Might be worth seeing if you like caravaning first before buying one.
Happy to chat about caravans any time you like.

We bought our first caravan off ebay. We took a big risk but it turned out well. Lasted us 2 years and we're well and truly bitten by the bug. We bought a brand new caravan last November and we love it

I got mine two years ago - only cost £1300 as the local caravan sales place wanted rid.

Best money i ever spent.

Considering and awning but using a pup tent at the mo.

We had an awning with our old van but haven't felt the need with this one. Its got fixed bunk beds at the end for the DC and me and DH make the bed up at the front at night - we love it.

We have four adults and two children so we use the awning with annexes. It really gives you plenty of space.
We are planning to go away at the end of May,I'm really looking forward to it.

Delamere forest, camping and caravanning club site is good and not far from you.

Would second the Plassey, fab site but you have to book weeks in advance, always full!

Holgates in silverdale is the same, gorgeous but fully booked for half term.

If you join the caravan club you can also use their certificated locations which are usually less than a tenner a night.

Thats what we did serin, we only go to CL's because we like to get away from it all and love our peace and quiet
