What bedding do you have in your caravan?

We are upgrading our van and the new one should be quite warm.

We currently have quite a lot of sheets, blankets and duvets and sleeping bags that we use for different weathers.

I'd like to cut down on luggage in this one.

What do you use?

I bought a silk duvet from Soak and Sleep in the sale. In fact, I bought the 4 tog one for summer and 9 tog for Spring/Autumn. It is fab because they fold up much smaller than a normal duvet. ( we have a two berth so have to store under seats during the day). Two pillows each. We have the duvalay mattress toppers with zipped on sheets ( two singles) so just roll those out each evening and roll up each morning.

I do occasionally hanker after a fixed berth but our first foray into caravaning has been great and we get the bed up and down in about two mins.

Duvalay do do a sleep all in one thingy so topper, sheet, duvet thingy all in one - bit sleeping baggish. I felt I would feel restricted. Can't recommend the silk duvet enough though - it's very neat.

Our van is warm too and the four tog was fine in summer and we usedthe 9 tog in the Lakes in October. They do join together too but I think that would be megga hot. Obvs, the one we don't use lives at home when we tour. Son bought a super light all in one duvet sheet thingy from John Lewis which he proposes using in summer in the awning.

We use a king duvet as a bottom sheet and then have a single duvet each on top. Plenty warm enough.

We have a fixed berth now and have a normal bed sheet and 7 tog duvet on it. It’s been lovely and toasty in -2 in February and find in 35+ in France in August.
The kids have the front bench seats and just use a sleeping bag each.

We have two fixed birth single beds and and have our own duvalays - pricey but we love them

We don't find them restrictive at all

We use use a tog duvet relevant to season, so a 2 in hot climates and a 7 for spring/autumn UK - never have anything higher than this as get too hot even at home in winter.
Are Duvalay worth the cost? Looking for a new mattress topper and we hate putting the sheet on, so something that comes prefitted sounds ideal. Where do you store them in day, as under seats has stuff in it already - suppose we could store on bunk beds?

You know when you click on an interesting looking thread and realise you wrote it. :)

We've finally got the new van and I've kept our duvets and bought us all a top sheet for warm nights.

Going away tomorrow so I will feedback if anyone is remotely interested :)

We have Toyota campervan - lumpy old fold down seats - so bought the duvalets with the memory foam bit and mattress attached. Used to have a caravan and definitely would have improved these similarly old and hard seat bed cushions.

Tbh I don't think they were really worth the money, clever idea but the covers were made of some sort of semi synthetic material that dog hair and grass seemed to stick to more than anything else.

And the duvet shifted about inside in a funny static way. In the end I made new covers for the topper and duvet (bought a set of two matching very cheap king size duvet covers from next and did v basic cut job with one seam down the middle if each) and it works better having then separate and having two single duvets.
We roll up the topper abd duvet into 2 seperate and tight rolls with a stretchy elastic net thing with hooks on each one. I think they're designed to go on a roof /luggage rack. And a bunch of giant fleecy blankets in zebra print which I love! Very cosy.

I'm camping now first time in 2 years due to baby and various stresses. Git away with just the kids and left Mr grumpy at home. It's awesome!

We have a fixed bed which has a washable mattress cover on, we just use XL sleeping bags with 2 pillows each and have a couple of those very light fleece throws for if it is a bit cold, though we have the caravan heating on if it is very cold
