Camping in Italy?

Hi,

We bought a tent and went to 3 different locations in Cornwall for a week in July with the kids. It was our first camping holiday and we had a beautiful week of sun.

Would like to branch out to Italy this year but honestly have no idea where to start looking. Anyone been to campsites in Italy that aren't too expensive? I really appreciated how cheap our trip to Cornwall was but realise we'll have to spend more in Italy.

Anyone stayed in campsites near Rome or Florence?

Thanks

We’ve stayed at this gorgeous site in Umbria. www.ilcollaccio.com/en/come-sleep/camping#/

We stayed in the famous Michelangelo one overlooking Florence and it was nice. I'd really take the heat into consideration. Some days we had to get a hotel room with aircon. Last summer people with hotel rooms were crying with the heat.

Just looked at trip advisor and it seems to have gone downhill, but the views...

We also stayed at seven hills camping in Rome. Just get the bus in for sightseeing. A bit 18-30 then, but great restaurant and facilities.

Thanks for the recommendations. I teach overseas in a hot location and break up earlier than UK schools so hopefully we can go before it gets too hot in Italy.
