Hi,
I’m looking for some recommendations we have been camping around Kent and so far really liked WoWo, and Bodiam boat station. Let me know your favourite campsites in that style. If they are near a beach even better. Doesn’t have to be south east could be a bit further. Thanks

Search Pitch Up and Cool Camping with the 'campfire allowed' filter on and these types of sites come up. Under 'themes' on Pitch Up you can choose 'wild camping' and other filters that concentrate your search, too.

Also check out the Greener Camping Club for sites - though at present many seem to be in Wales, and the Nearly Wild Camping club. I am not a member, but might join.

River Dart Country Park in Devon. I know it’s an absolute slog from Kent but so worth it. My eldest is only 7 but I happily let him bugger off with his mates for hours whenever we stay there. There are bike tracks, zip lines, a (shallow) lake with rope swings and a planks, obstacle courses and loads of playgrounds. It’s woody and by the river and kids just absolutely love it. Half a hour to Torbay or5 minutes up to Dartmoor.

Have you tried any of the Featherdown ones? They’ve got ones all over the country. I’ve been to a couple near us in Devon/ Cornwall and they’ve been really lovely and wholesome. Bloody expensive though.

Graffham Camping and Caravanning club site is right in a forest, we loved it there as so peaceful and had our own little glade area.

Thanks everyone some lovely suggestions, the Devin site sounds fantastic. Love places where the kids can roam a little bit.
