What a shame about the *** weather. We bottled out today (Sunday) cos muddy muddy muddy. The mud was fun at first, but then we were all cold, damp, and there was a queue of about 80 people for the loos this morning because they were blocked up. Ds, 9, was not enjoying himself. Dd, 3, loved the mud! Some security guys had to pull our car out of the mud - and we left a day early. Heaven knows how people are going to get out tomorrow. However, I did enjoy Robert Plant from the comfort of my sleeping bag!

What was Robert Plant doing in your sleeping bag?

just got back!
blitz spirit and bivouac making got us through Saturday's downpour, Sunday afternoon was dry and even sunny this morning, we were desperate to see Devendra Banhart.

We left on Sunday pm - tent had flooded Friday night and by Sunday I couldn't take any more! Annoyed because I really wanted to see Devendra and Stephen Malkmus but... couldn't hack it!

However, had lots of fun despite the shitty weather. Got to see my beloved King Creosote AND had a Pieminister pie, so pretty good going

Next year I'm taking one of those massive army ponchos...

lol at pie minister
dh really wanted one, in fact has been thinking about them, with the regularity that most men think about sex, since we went to the big chill 2 years ago.....but none of us could face the idea of standing in ankle deep mud to queue for one
love love love king creosote

Ahhh, well I was sneaky and got one on Thurs night when we arrived, so beat the queues! I couldn't believe it when I saw the line on Sat night - people must have been waiting for a good hour in the mud and rain. I mean, they're good, but...

KC was so fab. I am in love. Tunng sounded great too. I was in my tent, shivering, for Sat night - Battles on the folkey-dokey competing with Plant on the main stage - sounded like the world was ending!!

How was the divine Devendra - did he make it all worthwhile?

So how good is a Pie Minister? The queue was huuuuuuge all the time. We got Moroccan food and sat in their nice dry kasbah-y tent along with one of the bands (well, they were too trendy to hang with us, but hey, they were within chomping distance).

devendra was fab, very entertaining and charismatic. wish he'd been allowed a longer set. also enjoyed vetiver. and spent a couple of lovely cosy hours on sunday hanging out in a yurt with the radical midwives.
