Hi all,
I have a thermarest sim (a reasonably thick one but not the thickest available) and I often get DD's SIM (thinner thermaest, child sized and mummy shaped) to put under it, on top of my foil backed picnic blanket on the groundsheet. I manage to sleep ok but not brilliantly on that.
I am also a Cub leader, heading into more mature years, and life is only getting more hectic (and my back is feeling the strain). So sleep is important for me on Cub camp to deal with the daytimes (in between FT working so no chance of extra sleep before we go).
I was thinking, especially now that I won't have DD invading my tent late at night, of changing to a camp bed and getting a better night's sleep, and not getting up from the floor but at least some height. (There's also an outside chance I could then persuade DH to come camping again on occasion by giving him that bed - he reckons he is too old to camp anymore but has done a good few times in the past). So it would be accommodating about 13 stone of a sleeper.
For those who do have camp beds, do you have any brand/model recommendations?
Or tips on things to look out for?
I have a Vango Beta 450XL tent so reasonable headroom and it's usually only me in it (but shedloads of gear) so I have plenty of space.
