We're looking to go to France for may half term with two other families so want a campsite with lots of activities for the kids.
The weather is unpredictable in may so it must have good indoor pools. Some of the kids are 12 and would like more exciting activities like wakeboarding.
We went to Domains des Ormes and Les Alicourts the last two years both of which were very good.
I think Southern Brittany or the Vendée would be the furthest we could travel but would happily go inland as well.

Look at yelloh village. Loads of locations all over France. Great pools, kids clubs and some near the beach. We have gone everyyear for 5 years to all different ones. Prices are in euros so cheaper than eurocamps.

Bonne Anse Plague - fantastic pools and a zoo nearby.

Unfortunately Bonne Answer Plague is too far away from Calais to be drives or in a day and we've only got a week so can't really stopover.
I've had a look at some yellow village campsites on their website but nothing stood out as having really good indoor pools with loads of other activities.
Was there one that stood out for you in that regard?

You can get a long way in 6 hours?

It's. 400 miles from Calais to vendee, I don't think you'll get much further than that in 6/7 hours.

Not been there, but la Croix du Vieux Pont is about 2.5 hrs from Calais, has a big pool complex, lake and other activities. Might be worth a look? No beach though.

I've been to les alicourts, and it is a great site. Best site for stuff to do is without a doubt la crois de vieux pont. It gets voted best campsite in France almost every year.

I've been at least 10 times and have stayed in my own tent, a lodge and a canvas safari tent. You cannot fault the campsite, although they've built a new bit just over the road from the original site, so if you get a choice I'd always choose the main site.

The facilities are second to none, and it's only an hour from disneyland. Think from calais it's approx 2. 5 hours. Negatives are the weather, as its similar to here, and there's isn't a great deal within walking distance of the site.

I have heard really good things about domaine de la breche in the Loire Valley. Can recommend joining the Facebook site Tent Camping in France for lots of good advice.

Duinrell in The Netherlands is excellent and about 3 1/2 hours from Calais. I went there as a teenager and October last year as a parent of two under-sixes, and loved it both times. We're going back in October again.
