Where should we go n the south Vendee?

We like to be close to a nice town or village so we can walk out at night for a meal.

I’ve been googling but it’s so hard to get any real sense of what the various towns/villages are like.

Thinking of Ile de Re but afraid of the prices!

Brem sur mer

All popping up. Any recommendations for one in particular?

We’ve been to Carnac and benodet before in Brittany and really enjoyed both places. Am tempted to go to la trinite sur mer but the thought of finer weather is tempting me south.
