Camping chair for my dad

He's quite a sturdy chap in his 70s. Mobility reasonable but needs a good chair to rest comfortably.

It needs to be comfortable, strong, light as possible and easy to carry and transport (he's going to use it at sporting events too so will move around).

I have an outwell chair, which was about £40 when I bought it, it is comfortable but quite bulky to carry about. It is a sturdy chair and so easy to get in and out of.

Any recommendations?

My parents like the ones with arms and a little fold out table on the side.

The ridged arms mean they have something to push up from or steady themselves. Google the Royal Compact Director's Chair for an example, it also has a side pocket for book / reading glasses/ torch etc. There are various similar chairs available.

They are not as easy to carry as the 'umberella fold' chairs which fit in a bag, but I can carry a director chair over my shoulder while loaded down with other bags, for example.

My FiL likes my Royal Commander chair - he's not very mobile and he finds it gives enough support on his back plus it's got solid arms to help get him in and out of it.

It is almost identical to the Vango Kraken which is £30 in Google Outdoors.

It's not very lightweight for carrying around. I put mine in a shopping trolley on wheels but I have zero street cred anyway.

Does the Kraken fold like other camping chairs? What I would call an 'umbrella fold'?

If so it sounds more portable than the other director style chairs which fold flat.

I've gone with a royal commander as it folds up for carrying. I think he will consider it his throne! It looks fab !
