Dandy Dart

Anyone have one?
Been tempted for a few years now to get a trailer tent and I think this is the one I want to go for. It's me a 8yo.
Not towed before but I am a really confident driver.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Currently camp in a bell tent.

I would see if you can hire one first - we got a bit carried away one year and bought a brand new Cabanon trailer tent because it was so lovely.

A year later we sold it at a massive loss we like free range camping which the TT didn't allow for.

Towing is easy, nothing to do with that but with your bell you can pitch anywhere you can carry it to.

Not really the case with a TT. Of course you might like a structured site, in which case ignore me completely Grin.

What about drying it? Do you have room enough not to worry about it at home?

I was thinking of a Dandy Dart as they are quite small and it should fit in my garage to dry. And it would be stored in my garage.

Those Cabanon ones look lovely but I think too big (and pricey) for me.

Good tip on hiring one, off to look now.

I would see if you can hire one, have a go at putting it up and down a few times during your hire (our TT was a pita, but yes it was huge)!

Is there enough floor space for you in a Dart - is it all beds?

Re garage - is it high enough to dry it open in there. We had a barn that we kept ours in but the roof was lean to and we struggled to dry it in there because one side was not high enough.

My parents have a Dandy and we spent many happy holidays in them.

They can be tricky to put up on your own though so maybe you need to consider whether you could do it with just yourself and an 8 year old.
