Wild camping in cornwall and devon

Hello,

Im planning a 3-4 night trip around cornwall and devon.

I'd ideally like to wild camp along the way, just a night at a place. Kip by sundown and be off before sunrise. Obviously i would cause no damage or sign that I was ever there.

Are there any places that expressly allow this / or a pro this?

It might be worth having a look at campinmygarden.com where people with land offer unofficial pitching at low cost.
I don't really know Devon and Cornwall. I would think that either fields have cattle in them, or are arable, and as it is harvest season there might be combines out all night.

Also have a look at PitchUp.com and filter by area, tent pitch and then 'wild camping' and you get smaller sites that don't tend to get booked up with holidaying families because they often don't have a shower, for example.

Thanks I'm now looking at that site. I looked at pitchup and was a bit disappointed - came across lots of places offering all the bells and whistles but some for 20+ a night! Will take a closer look at filtering out some of this

Camp on Dartmoor.
Wild camping
Backpacking and sleeping wild on Dartmoor is tremendous under clear skies. Camping for one or two nights on the open land on Dartmoor is perfectly acceptable provided that you choose your spot sensibly and don't pitch your tent on farmland, on moorland enclosed by walls, on flood plains or on archaeological sites. Please note that camping is not permitted on Cadover, Haytor, Holne Moor, Roborough and Spitchwick commons.
Only lightweight camping equipment should be used and large family frame tents should not be used. Please use a proper campsite if you have a large family frame tent and equipment.
Please ensure that you pitch your tent discreetly at least 100m from a road and so that you are not visible from the roadside or in sight of residential properties.
