Hey :) we are doing a bit of a tour of the south west and looking for a campsite around exmoor/west Somerset for three nights on our way home to from St Ives.. Any recommendations would be gladly welcome.

Many thanks

Hi

Burrowhayes Farm at West Luccombe on Exmoor is really nice. They accept tents and caravans/campers. The facilities are nice and there's a little shop as well as tea rooms inthe village. They also do pony trekking through the local woods and are close to the beach. We've had since fab holidays there.

Have a lovely trip!

We've not been for a couple of years but Cloud Farm was always a great stay. Lovely scenery in a valley and amazing cream teas.

Just be aware that Exmoor is steep hills and narrow lanes, not for the faint hearted. It is though the most beautiful moor - enjoy Smile

Check out The Creamery cafe in Minehead - it's amazing! So many lovely things to do in that area too x

I really like the look of cloud camping but it says they don't take bookings? It is too far away from us just to risk turning up and hoping for the best.

Does it get filled up?

The camping and caravan site one at Minehead was surprisingly nice, set above the town, great views and quiet site. Nothing fancy.

Exmoor has loads of amazing campsites - Caffyns farm (owned by the people who originally started Cloud Farm) walk down through beautiful woods to the stunning Lee Cove, Doone Valley Campsit- literally two minutes away from Cloud Farm, Leeford Farm( also in the Doone Valley), Westermill Farm, Pool Bridge. Exmoor is awesome. You will love it. Cloud Farm is probably the most stunning location but the current owners are not maintaining the facilities. Last time I went, which was admittedly a bank holiday, they had rammed so many campers in guy ropes were literally crossing. However, the good news is both Doone Valley and Leeford Farm are very close so you can go there instead! Oh so many lovely places!!!
