Night time wee wee in campervan - she-wee?

Firstly, apologies if it in some way offensive to ask a campervan question on the camping forum, or if this has been done to death. I don't normally hang out on this forum and a quick look hasn't turned up the answer to my query.

In recent years it is rare that I sleep through the night without getting up to go the toilet. This is one thing when under canvas, where the worst of it is zip noise, wriggling out and wandering to the toilets. But this summer we are hiring a campervan and touring the Highlands in honour of my significant birthday.

It's only about 3 weeks away Grin and it dawns on me that a night time trip to the toilet block is going to involve opening and closing the van door a couple of times and waking up the rest of the family. I'm trying to think of alternatives and so far I am on she-wee plus the bags sold by the same people which as far as I understand contain the crystals that turn to gel and thus contain the wee wee.

Any better ideas?

I bought a wee bottle thingy off ebay. It came with an attachment for women. I've yet to actually need to use it yet but i like having it in case of an emergency. I assume you would just empty it in the morning.

I know a few others who use a bucket with a bin bag and cheap disposable nappies in the bottom to soak up the wee. But that would take up much more space.

Shee Wees are bloody handy. Friend of mine was just at a festival and used one + cup at night in the tent as it was a bit lairy and drunken and chaotic outside. The cup wasn't the best solution as she was afraid she'd knock it over! But the shee wee was great. Particularly in the portaloos which looked like the lowest circle of hell by Day 2. It meant she didn't have to touch any part of it with her body. Grin

Hasn't the Campervan got a toilet? I'd be surprised if it didn't tbh.

Bucket. With lid if you want to be posh.

Thanks guys. I will look at the e-bay link and see how that compares with she-wee. It's an old VW campervan, the website doesn't seem to work on the computer I'm on right now, but I'm pretty sure there is no toilet. Bucket is a good lo-tech option isn't it. I'm not expecting much spare space in the van. Although happily we can collect from quite close to home and quite early on day 1 so the plan is to pack the van at our home address once we have a better idea of space, rather than packing the car and transferring everything at the collection point.

Bucket.
We use a nappy bucket. It's not too big and the lid fits well.

If it's an old campervan you should be able to wriggle through to the front seats and exit the van via a front door which is a lot quieter than the main sliding door. Keeping a bucket of piss in a camper van isn't great unless it has a watertight lid. They're quite cramped spaces and would be easy to knock over. Infact thinking of my old t25 I don't think there would have been space for a bucket once the bed was pulled out. You might have space between the driver's seat and passenger seat I guess depending on layout.

Bucket, lined with a pedal bin liner, nappy in the bottom to soak up the wee. Tie it up when finished. Job done.

She wees are brilliant, you can wee in a bottle with them so just keep an empty pop bottle or similar WITH SCREW CAP to wee in and empty in the morning.

The Wizz is comfier and more leak-proof, imo. It is silicone, and has a 'bladder' you can attach it to. I keep one in the car.

The Wizz is looking god. Sadly, I don't think we'll have room for a shitbox.

The shewee gives a hint that you should practice in the shower at home before 'going live'.

She-wee works well with a coke bottle! But needs practice beforehand. I'm very glad I gave it a go (!) last summer at a festival.
