Replacing tent poles do I have to buy a pole specifically for my tent??

We put out up at the weekend and the poles seemed a bit more stiff and brittle the usual. We ended up snapping one of the fibreglass poles. Luckily we had an replacement that came with the tent. We have an outwell Iowa which was discontinued quite early on so just wondering where we can get replacement pole can we just use a pole that is the correct measurement???

A camping shop not far from us has several boxes of spare poles where you can choose a replacement for a few pounds.

It might be worth ringing round a few places.

Good luck Smile

We have replaced ours.

You will need the right guage of poles and a kit to rethread the pole.

We have a kit with lengths of fibreglass pole, strings for rethreading and a hack saw to cut the fibreglass to the right length.

A good camping shop will sort you out.

HI, I've just investigated the same thing. We snapped two poles on our practically bloomin' brand new Outwell tent when we put it up to dry it out a couple of weeks ago. The Outwell ones for our tent are Durawrap and they come in a variety of gauges either in packs or singly. Maybe yours are the same?
