Camping

Do you always book in advance?

When we've camped before we've always gone with big groups, and of course booked in advance.

In Whit week - if it's nice - we want to just pop up to the Lakes for a couple of nights midweek. Will we easily find a pitch (for a small-average sized tent)? Or are we being hopelessly naive and everywhere will be heaving?

We tend to book in advance. When I tried to book a place for last years august bank holiday I had the devils own job.

Depends on when and where you go, but the Lakes in Whit week - yep, I'd book in advance.

Oh dear Sad
That doesn't sound very promising.

Yes, because I am a control freak. Saying that, I struggled to get the sites we wanted this year so well worth it.

OK I was fretting about this - the weather's been quite good, and the forecast is glorious (if chilly). So I've phoned up and booked a pitch for tomorrow for a couple of nights, so I can stop worrying now!
