Do I share my camping checklist with friends

spent an hour today going through the camping boxes in the garage, ticking it off against the 1 A4 page of 10font (3 columns) list of equipment that needs to be crammed into the Volvo. Realised there are around 150 items - ok, it includes food items and games for DSs.

We're off with friends from school when the boys break up and they aren't regular campers. Thought about sharing my list but then felt they might think it a bit anal and wonder if I had camping OCD?

If it was me, I would be eternally grateful. I am a camping novice and need to some serious guidance about what to take!

Anything embarassing like KY Jelly & rubber johnnies? Is it laminated?

Jetli: Fraid not as OH isnt coming (no pun intended) as big project on at work.

Tampons and tick remover are there.

Havent considered lamination - I guess I could make a master copy and then use a whiteboard pen

The list also seems to be growing.

Had forgotten 's' hooks to hang the nifty little LCD lights from Aldi on!

You could just say you want to compare lists so that you don't double up on stuff, for instance you would only need one washing up bowl and washing up liquid wouldn't you, and there must be other things. Say you want more room for wine. That way they won't think you are mad OCD just that you are an alcoholic.

Ha, thought 'crikey' that's a long list' just started toting mine up (is open in another window) stopped at 200 hundred and thought, 'hmm, maybe it's not so long' Grin

I have shared mine (including sticking it on here once) there is a twinge of odd, but I wouldn't worry about it. It's easier than saying 'oh and don't forget.......' x 100.

stick it up here, do, i would LOVE a good camping list.

re S hooks, i use the plastic rings that we used to use to clip baby toys onto the buggy/playgym. you can just leave 'em on the tent and they do no harm.

:) WTWTA: perhaps we should compare and amalgamate - we could develop the ultimate MN camping checklist!

Pixel: thanks for the advice (suspect they already have me down as a mad alcoholic 'good organiser')

Aitch: hadn't thought of those, thanks, plastic would be a safer option and the lights are featherweight.

Right, thats my insecurities sorted, now the next problem - how on earth do i get it all in the car!!

Tampons & tick remover don't sound so bad... I'd share Grin Laminated, whilst practical definitely looks a tad OCD & uber-efficient I think.

I shall also be: 1. Pinching Aitch's idea & 2. Hunting down WTWTW's old list for my own preparations.

I am one of those numpties that makes a new list on the back of some old envelope every sodding time we go away... Waste hours of drinking time my life doing that
