We're lookig for a week in August..

Littlemad is 5, we're in a tent.

We kind of like sites with a showers and a bath/washing machines and half decent shop, away from road, nice to have something to do and get hot food from) within walking distance.
Would be ideal if they had wifi as well.
Grateful for any ideas, thanks

How about the Witterings? (near Chichester). West Wittering has a beautiful beach if it's seaside you are after.

I believe there are quite a few sites in the area but the only one I've tried is Scott's Farm at East Wittering (only chose that as it was a last minute trip and they don't require advance booking). It's quite big so not to everyone's taste but it fits most of your criteria. The shop on the site is limited to camping essentials such as pegs/gas/ice for g&t, but there is a parade of shops about 5 mins walk from the entrance that has co-op, chip shop etc and there is a pub too further down near the beach if I recall. Doubt if they have wifi but the childrens' play area is quite popular.

Wicks Farm, West Wittering
East Fleet Farm, Weymouth

I haven't been to either, just have them on my list of possibles.

Fleet Farm in Weymouth is lovely - we went to the other one of theirs a couple of years ago and it's the place littlemad would like to go back to.

I'll cehck out the Wittering ones too as I' hadn't thought of that area at all

Cheers
