We are festival newbies but have been bitten by the camping bug. Some friends of ours are considering the Just So Festival, and we were considering Alex James presents Harvest (I think this might be the first year as an offshoot). Our family are 2 adults, a 4yo and a (will be) 1yo. Which of the two would you recommend. Harvest have a Charlie and Lola and Fantastic Mr Fox show. Don't know much about Just so, except that it is slightly cheaper, and we could only do 2 out of 3 nights at Harvest as DD1 will have just started school.

Any opinions?

Hadn't seen this thread before I read your pm (can't see PMs on the new app) so only just got what it was referring to! I remember who joy are, I can just about make out your namechanges. Are they an Eddie Izzard homage btw?

Anyway, is the Scottish system diff to uk? Dd1 goes into reception, though she'll only be 4. They go in the academic year in which they turn 5.

Don't know anything about Harvest but went to Just So last year with my boys and had an absolutely fantastic time. Beautiful location with all activities accessed via walkways through the woods and lots of different things to do, and if you have a 1yo there are lots of baby facilities - baby bath time was great last year, double-check to see if they're doing it this time. Also, great food, nice enough toilets for a festival and a really nice relaxed and safe atmosphere. Good music and things finished at a reasonable time so everyone got some sleep and not gruumpy next morning :-) I was very excited about seeing the Gruffalo!
