Calorie deficit but way over the recommended amount of sugar

Hi I have a calorie deficit but I always eat way over the recommended daily allowance for sugar. However, most of this sugar is from whole fresh fruit and fruit nut bars like Nakd. Is this "bad"? What are your opinions on sugar?

You can eat what you want don’t worry about micros until you’ve got the deficit spit in every time

I’m assuming you’re not an elite athlete I meant so the details don’t matter

I see what you mean OP. It's like saying I'm only having 800 calories a day.......800 calories of orange juice. Yes you would lose weight in terms of calories in v calories out but it wouldn't be healthy or sustainable as sugar = empty carbs. I was a sugarholic till I read the Blood Sugar Diet by Michael Moseley. I have changed my way of eating for health reasons and am dropping weight (9lb in 4 weeks) but mist importantly it has really changed how I feel (clearer skin, no cravings, no afternoon slumps, less fat round my middle (vital organs), I feel in control etc). Can you make gradual swaps? e.g. Apple and nut butter, apple and cheese, nuts, pea & feta omelette, prawn salad etc instead of fruit (especially sweet tropical fruit like banana, mango, pineapple). Well done with taking control though - it's hard when food, snacks, advertising, food related activities etc are just everywhere.
