Have 6do ds - milk came in 3 days ago. Boobs are gigantic and feel like cement and supply getting stronger with each feed. Now extremely uncomfortable with one side on point of engorgement. Midwife said to etress right out but I am very fearful of stimulating supply even further. Ds also struggling to cope with the gush, keeps choking and crying and finding it harder to latch on as nipple stretched. What to do? Take paracetemol and sit it out? express? Very nervous of mastitis as had great experience of bf with dd and don't want to give it up.

express off to comfort on the side you won't start feeding on, not completely. you may also want to express of a bit from the breast you will offer just before a feed if it is engorged too. it will help ease the fast flow that your baby will get. you can also taking yoru baby off if you don't express and let the flow subside in a muslin and then reattach. over the next days and weeks your supply will start to adjust to demand.

if you look google 'kellymom' and 'over supply' 'fast letdown' some really good info will come up.
