Infant feeding

Formula for very gassy/colicky baby

DS (2wks old) seems to be heading down the same colicky route as DD did. He is being mixed fed with more EBM than formula right now, but he seems super windy after the formula.

Is there a formula that makes it easier on their stomachs or makes them less windy? We are using the Avent bottles for both EBM and the formula. We are also using Infacol which helps a bit.

I know the mixed feeding probably isn't helping but after a very traumatic birth (for both of us) I am having to express for him. He has had a lot of feeding issues, but he excess wind is a new one!

Many thanks.

I fed my baby Enfamil AF (anti reflux) formula and she did really well on it. She did not suffer from loads of wind on it. Might be worth a try. You will have to buy it from a pharmacy.

It might also be worth trying Dr Browns bottles. They are a bit of a faff as they have lots of bits to them but I thought they helped with colic. But mothercare has some bottles that are supposed to mimic breast feeding. This is a link to them here I have not tried them myself but they might be worth a look.

Hope other come along with more advice soon
