My Ds 16 weeks has always been regular at doing poo's but lately he went a whole week without going but his wind is so smelly!!
He then done 2 in 1 day but now we are back to no poo for 2 days so far.
He also lays in his cot moaning sounds like he is trying to push it our (sorry cannot think of another way to put it)

Any ideas why this is happening and what i could do to help the problem?

This pattern is normal, chocohead, and plenty of babies have smelly wind without anyone really getting to the bottom of why

If he is moaning and staying asleep, then he is not in pain. Babies moan and groan in response to bodily sensations - it doesn't mean they are distressed.

If he was uncomfortable he would wake and cry.

Also, time wise, he's probably going through a bit of a spurt so is actualy using most of your milk for this so there's not much to come out the other end (sorry, bit graphic!)

Thanks so much for the replies, he seems to be learning so much so maybe he is just going through a spurt.

The nights are getting worse though and he is waking more and having to be fed back to sleep between 1 - 3 hours (boo hoo)

I will keep going with it and see how we go, just feel sorry for my 4 year old DD who has a grumpy sleep mummy
