17 week old on breastfeeding strike?

My 17 week old has gone on nursing strike and will only feed in my bed lying down in the morning or at night? Has this ever happend to anyone out there?

It is a real pain as I have to express as I am giving formula sometimes and I don't always have the time to do all that as I have a 3 year old tearing around the place.. I feel sad that she is almost weaning herself .. wonder if anyone has ever heard of /experienced this ...I did read it can be a phase maybe due to teething but it has been going on a few weeks now?

Any ideas??

Ah yes, we had this - with both DC. In both cases it was teeth. And it passes - it must have done I'm still feeding both the little buggers and they are now much, much older

Look don't worry, she is not weaning herself and your milk supply with survive this. It tends to last three days unless there is an underlying illness (if she has no fever and generally well I wouldn't worry about this).

Chin up. I know it's hard. Have you tried feeding lying down in the middle of the day and feeding her?

I sobbed for three solid days when DS did this.

But it was fine once the annoying tooth arrived

hi thx for your message.. good to hear it isn't just me! well i thought it might be teething as she is well and giggling and generally happy ... however it has been going on for a few weeks now, and i am now giving bottles during the day ( which saddens me) and trying to express when i get a second so the milk doesn't run out but feel like i am fighting a losing battle and she is 18 weeks on Tuesday and I will probably be weaning in the next month and a bit or so...don't know whether to give up and just feed her at night lying down and do bottles during the day..because it has been going on so long when i do feed lying down there doesn't seem to be enough as I think the supply doesn't seem to be there.. apart from being a faff with the bottle i really wanted to feed her a bit longer..don't know what to do now !
