DS has dropped a feed and I am feeling engorged, what should I do?

Anything? Should I express off the excess, or will that just make it worse tomorrow? To make things more confusing, he has dropped the feed (No idea whether it was just one feed but his milk intake has definitely dropped. Don't have a routine at all.) because:

a. I have been working this week and left him for an afternoon on Monday, today and will again on Friday and the same days next week, but after that probably won't leave him that regularly for that long.

b. I had been feeding him multiple times during the evening to try and get him to sleep and tonight I tried taking him for a walk in his pushchair which worked. He just stirred and I offered him the breast and he bit me twice sighed and went back to sleep!

c. No particular other reasons other than that he is 9.5mo and eating much more solid food all of a sudden (BLW).

Express and freeze! Whenever this happens that's what I did, can't let any of that fab milk go to waste. Can always mix it with cereal, to cook with etc. Supply goes down naturally anyway so don't worry about making it worse for yourself.

OK I have expressed some but they still feel full and am only getting drips out now. I really want to just feed him direct but he keeps biting me whenever I try He has not had a full feed since this morning (had a small one this afternoon, kept getting distracted). They are not as sore as they were but still don't feel comfortable. He is awake now as buggy trick didn't work tonight. He keeps seeming to want milk but biting me I am worried my milk will all dry up.

Hiya - could he be teething (might explain the biting and why he's not feeding right)? You could try some local teething gel/Anbesol to see if that helps him. Hope you have a better night and day tomorrow.

mine bit me several times at about this stage (when i went back to work) I got her to latch by persistence, and going somewhere quiet..cuddling her close and waitin for her to decide to latch. Ideally catch him when he's just waking up (and all pliant) or very tired. Imagine this dificult if your boy is a kicky little thing like mine.

yes i think it was teething that caused this, though i noticed she'd also bitten her sucky cup to shreds.
