Infant feeding

Should I upgrade to hungry baby milk?

My 14 week old is drinking four times a day, 7-8oz in a feed. While this seems to be within the recommended intake for her current weight, I'm concerned that each Dr Brown's bottle is only 8oz. In a week or two will I need to offer her a second bottle, i.e. more sterilising? or introduce another feed (she sleeps through the night at the mo)? Or move her to hungry baby milk? She is on the 50th percentile so not enormous by any stretch of imagination!

She dropped the fifth 10:30pm feed on her own accord a few weeks ago when I didn't wake her up for it. Any advice gratefully appreciated...

I would say feed more often if and when she starts to need it, i.e. move to 5 bottles.
Congratulations on your baby sleeping through the night. My first DD did so at 8 weeks but my second DD is nearly 6 months and still waking for a feed at 4am!

Four feeds a day really isn't many. I have a drink much more than 4 times a day!

If she seems happy with what she's having then I don't see why she would need hungry baby milk - it just takes longer to digest as it has more starches in it. She may not necessarily want a greater volume - she may just want the same (or even less) more often.

I suppose I could just wait and see when she gets hungry and introduce a fifth bottle. I'm worried that she'll start waking up at night again! It's so lovely for us to have that solid sleep now!!

Thanks so much for your advice. I'll wait and see what happens.
