Infant feeding

my goodness, as if telling someone to eat cream cakes wasn't bad enough to improve milk quality, but to get the babies weight wrong??

well that says it all really doesnt it, further to this thread
here about baby not gaining enough weight and need a formula top up it materialises that the baby was weighed in KG and the midwife converted the weight explaining baby as babe has only put on half an ounce it needs topping up with formula. Today however, we decided to convert the babies weight ourselves and low and behold its actually put 3 ounces on

Baby has been double checked today and tis true, 3 ounces converted correctly from KG....what a mistake, if this hadnt been checked baby would have been topped up with formula today. Not that there is anything wrong with formula or course not, but this time the mum really wanted to try and stick with breastfeeding x

i'm not surprised.

dd was born weighing 8lb 5oz. at 10 days she was weighed again by HV who said she was now 8lb 15oz. so we were like oh my god she's put on 10lb. but no.

midwife in the delivery room did the conversion wrong. HV had to get all the documents out again to re check. dd was in fact born 8lb 14oz..so she'd put on 1lb.
