hello there my ten month old has terrible ezcema. i breast fed her her completely until she was about 6 months old and then started to give her some cows milk formula. her ezcema became really bad and she was eventually prescribed some hydrocortisone cream. since stopping breast feing a month ago its got alot worse again now that she is on formula alone. . no matter what i do now ....creams lotions etc i cant improve it. im very sensitive to cows milk although i do have a little in my diet , i eat mainly goats milk and goats cheese. i did this throughout my pregnancy too. could she be irritated and sensitive to cows milk like me??? im wondering if its too early for her to have goats milk powder instead of the cows milk based formula. any ideas. any advice would be appreciated.

I gave both my dds nanny formula, and I swear that with dd1 when she had cows milk eczema worsened. The ridiculous thing is that nanny formula m,ilk has now been relabeled and is no longer sold as infant formula milk because the powers that be didn't think that there was enough evidence to support the idea that it was in any way better or different to cows formula. I'd be inclined to phone vitacare who can advise you, but if I were you, I would definitely try it, it certainly won't do any harm. One word of warning though, it is pretty pricey.

vitacare here

imo no it definitely isn't too early for goats, apparently goats is more easily digested than cows anyway

Goat's milk worked wonders for my dd too. I gave her normal goats milk from about 9 months. Obviously I can't advise you, I'm not an expert, but I wouldn't hesitate in giving normal goats milk to a baby of your dd's age again.

I used the powdered goat's formula from about 6-9 months, then just straight onto cartoned milk.
