TMI - brown baby poo, please advise!

DD is b/f but has been in top-ups since week 2 as lost about 20 per cent of her birth weight. Have got the top-ups down to one bottle a day now, and on Monday she didn't have any top-ups at all. She fed all day yesterday and was really miserable so I gave her a top-up in the evening which seemed to satisfy her. Last night instead of the usual yellow poo it was more brown - sort of a midway between meconium and the usual yellow.

Does this mean anything does anyone know? I think I need to cut down the amount of top-up and wean her more slowly, was it suddenly stopping the top-up on Monday that caused the brown poo do you think, or is it unrelated?

sorry for bad typing - meant wean her off top-ups more slowly, not wean her!!! She is 3 and a half weeks.

Have you changed her top up formula?

If I remember correctly, with DD we had raindow coloured poo. Try not to worry too much.

I'm sure someone more experienced will be along shortly.

SMA made my DD poo dark brown... Some formulas have that effect

Hmmm, thanks becky. It's Hipp. It's the not having formula that seems to have changed it though, rather than the other way round IYSWIM.

Oh right... Id just watch it for a day or two... if she's fully bf it should go back to yellow. It may just be the change thats done it
