If you have a FF baby who's over 1 and still drinks in the night...

What do you give him/her? DS still has a bottle in the night and it's quite easy at the moment because we take room-temp water up and add the powder in when he wants it. But as soon as he's a year old I'm going to give him cow's milk instead so I'm wondering what to do in the nights. Cow's milk (not longlife), obviously has to be kept in the fridge and so we can't take a bottle up with us. Also it's too cold for him to drink straight from fridge, so it means going downstairs and getting milk from the fridge then microwaving it - a real pain when we're already exhausted to our very souls! What
do other people do?

can you start weaning your lo off of the night feed? I did it with ds from 6 months and started slowly dropping the amount I offered him by an ounce every week or so. It took him to 8 months to give it up. If you are still going to give it then it might be easier just to use formula for that feed so you dont need to faff about downstairs.

You sure he won't have it straight from the fridge? DS is bf so obviously has warm milk but will also have cows milk (when GPs look after him) and is happy to have that cold, even through the night.

Could you keep milk in a small cool bag, with ice pack, and hot water in a thermos flask, and take those upstairs with you?

Seona, would do anything for him not to have the night feed but he's having none of it

PolarBear, hmmm, I suppose he might be ok with it cold if he gets used to it - he's been shocked by it and spluttered when I've given him cold milk in the past but I guess he could get used to it.
