Infant feeding

refusing milk feeds

Hi everyone. My 7 mo DS refused his milk feed last night. Had one as usual this am, but is refusing his mid afternoon milk feed too. He usually has 3 feeds around 6-7oz each time. He seems well and is eating his solids ok. Any ideas why this could be?

Not sure. Could be that he's getting enough from his food so doesn't need as much of the milk. I think my DS started dropping his milk much more by this age too. If he's having lots of milk based foods then don't worry. He's probably getting enough nutrients not to need the extra milk. The current advice is about a pint of milk a day but this includes milk taken as part of solids so if he's having yoghurts etc then he may not need any more.

that happened to me few days ago.
I was giving too much solids.
I cut them back and he's drinking is milk again...
It should be equivalent of 2 jars for lunch and 1 x tea....
